A very hardy little Festuca, punctoria makes a splendid architectural accent in the garden with its sharp-pointed, blue-green leaves creating a wonderful prickly dome. A densely clumping perennial with erect culms 18-30 cm long. Fertile spikelets comprising 46 fertile florets; with diminished
florets at the apex. Spikelets elliptic, or oblong; and laterally compressed; 78 mm long;
