overall colour is more a grey than a blue. Thin fine rolled eaves with
attractive flower heads, blue grey becoming more reddish. Requires full sun poor
soil and is a first class for sandy coastal areas.

"Blue Magellan Wheatgrass" From the Magellan straights of South Americas Cape Horn (named after the navigator Magellan and from whom this grass gets its name) This tufted clump former has the most intense blue foliage of all the grasses. Its colour is so strong other traditional bluish grasses pale into insignificants. A cool season grower it needs
sharply drained soil especially in wet winter areas such as the SW and welcomes some light shade to relieve the summer sulks. Drought tolerant and loves the seaside. It makes a superb container specimen. Zone 6 Hardy.

of the Festuca, certainly the most intense in colour. H 30 cm.-W 90 cm. Festuca are easy to grow
and attractive. Small, narrow leaved, that do well in drier sites and on poor
or acid soils. Avoid chalk or alkaline soils. They do best in full sun and with
good drainage. looking very good with sedges and grasses of a similar height.

Originating in western Asia, and also known as Hedgehog Festuca. A very hardy little Festuca, punctoria makes a splendid architectural accent in the garden with its sharp-pointed, blue-green leaves creating a wonderful prickly dome. A densely clumping perennial with erect culms 18-30 cm long. Fertile spikelets comprising 46 fertile florets; with diminished florets at the apex. Spikelets elliptic, or oblong;
and laterally compressed; 78 mm long.
