Gewitterwolke. (Thunderclouds) Aptly named, Miscanthus Gewitterwolke has beautifully upright clumps reaching 1.8m-2.1m. The medium wide dark green leaves topped with many superb spikes and thunderclouds of dark pink flower plumes that persist from summer through autumn. Ornamental Grass Miscanthus Gold Bar is truly a show-stopper. A good, grower eventually reaching 1.6 meters tall with heavily banded gold stripes on a bottle green leaf from the base of the grass to its crescent. These horizontal gold bars are much closer together than other banded Miscanthus and give ’Gold Bar’ a theatrical look. Exceptionally upright and compact in habit make this new grass perfect for large containers or in small urban gardens. Burgundy inflorescences appear just above the foliage in mid autumn. ’Gold Bar’ is a splendid specimen.
